Power Wheelchair Soccer

In October 2024, GBAS hosted a power wheelchair soccer clinic with the help of CNY United Power Soccer Team. This clinic brought out a new group of athletes and supported our goal of offering programs for athletes with higher-level disabilities.

Thanks to a donation from M&T Bank, power soccer will be returning to GBAS in 2026. We will purchase equipment including wheelchair guards, soccer balls, and goals to jumpstart a new program here in Buffalo.

School and Physical Education Class Visits

In 2024, GBAS started a school-based physical education class initiative so that more students could experience adaptive sports. We lend schools 20+ youth sports wheelchairs, allowing teachers to build an adaptive curriculum for the week. This time often includes a presentation or live book reading by GBAS’s Adam Page, where Adam shares the importance of students being included, siting his own elementary school teacher for supporting his passion of sports. All students deserve access to physical activity and the joy of playing with their friends.

Schools visited by GBAS:

Beyond Learning Center, Dodge Elementary, Fredonia Elementary, Smallwood Elementary, Lockport Elementary, Lockport High School West, Smallwood Elementary, Windermere Boulevard Elementary
