Sled Hockey

Sled Hockey is where it all began! Our founders, Norm and Adam Page spent years traveling around New York and the US to help grow the game of sled hockey with USA Hockey. We have worked with the Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey Program since they were the “Niagara Challengers”, Adam’s first sled hockey team. Learn more about GBAS’s sled hockey history, the cornerstone of our foundation, on our About Us page.
Current Programming
GBAS founded the Buffalo Stampede Sled Hockey Team in 2026, with a youth an adult division. In their inaugural season, the Stampede competed against teams in the Heartland Sled Hockey League. The team features Batavia, NY, native and Siena College Men’s Hockey Alum JT Turnbull as goalie. Turnbull secured two shutouts to close out the 2026 spring season. The Buffalo Stampede will go on to compete in the Northeast Sled Hockey League.
We are open to hosting “try-it” events or clinics at rinks around WNY and have all the necessary sleds, sticks, helmets, and gloves to get started. If you are interested in trying sled hockey or bringing it to your rink, please reach out to Adam at adam@greaterbuffaloadaptivesports.org.

Team USA in WNY
In Nov. 2025, we teamed up to host a “Try-it Event” for new athletes interested in the sport. Women’s National Sled Hockey Team member and Buffalo native, Maddy Eberhard, joined athletes on the ice and shared her own sled hockey experience coming up through the program and the journey to the Women’s World Para Ice Hockey Championships.
